What this is
A culture-exchange Q&A board built by a student of the WHU–Durham Joint College. It works like a campus forum, except every post carries a “Translate” button so Chinese- and English-speaking classmates can read the same conversation.
How to use it
- Click “Ask a question”, pick a category and write in whichever language feels natural. You can add a translation of your own with one click.
- Press “Translate” under a card to reveal the other language. The translation is stored with the post, so the next reader gets it instantly.
- Answer in the box below; the answer that fits best can be marked as the “Best answer”.
- The “Chinese ↔ English” tab is a standalone translation desk: whole paragraphs, live preview, one-click copy.
Data and privacy
Questions, answers and nicknames live only in your own browser's local storage — nothing is uploaded. Clearing browser data removes them, and you can reset manually from your profile.
About the translation
It prefers a free public translation endpoint (MyMemory) and caches results locally. Without a network, it falls back to a built-in bilingual glossary that gives a rough but readable result; the interface always labels where a translation came from.
Disclaimer
An unofficial student project, not affiliated with Wuhan University or Durham University. The campus artwork is hand-drawn and symbolic; no official emblems or logos are used.
